Catholics Are Wrong

When someone says, “Catholics are wrong,” do you freeze—or fight?

If your stomach drops because you don’t know what to say, start with a humble question: Says who?

You don’t need to be a scholar to answer confidently—just a clear path. This book offers a simple three-step model that moves the conversation from fuzzy opinions to first principles: identify the source of the claim, go back to the beginnings (Creed, councils, canon), and ask who Jesus authorized to teach.

Along the way, you’ll see why the Nicene Creed, the councils, and the canon all point to a visible Church with apostolic succession; why Sola Scriptura (“Bible alone”) collapses under basic logic; and why Jesus’ prayer that we “be one” (Jn 17:21) still matters. Includes conversation scripts, a curated KJV verse list, quick historical notes, and responses to common objections—so you can speak with charity, clarity, and calm.

If you’re tired of theological whack-a-mole, this book will help you stand firm, plant seeds, and keep Christ at the center.

William Moran

The Divorce Coach

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of WhyCatholic.com

William (Bill) Moran is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides professional counseling services in Calabasas, CA, serving individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. Bill grew up in culturally diverse Queens, New York, in a devout Irish/Italian Catholic family. Like many young adults, he stepped away from his faith during his teenage years and lived a secular life into his late twenties before beginning a deeper search for meaning and purpose.

Bill began his professional journey as an electrical contractor at age 19, working in the field for 10 years. With a natural passion for working with people, he later transitioned into real estate, obtaining his license in 1984. He built a successful 30-year career in real estate sales and mortgage banking, employing hundreds of people and helping countless families and individuals achieve their financial goals. Despite this success, Bill felt something was missing and began exploring psychology, theology, and spirituality more deeply.

Driven by a lifelong commitment to self-improvement and helping others, Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. During his internship, he worked as a co-therapist in domestic violence group counseling programs and established a support group for survivors of domestic abuse.

Following graduation, Bill served as a primary therapist at well-respected recovery and intensive outpatient programs in Malibu and Woodland Hills. Drawing from both professional training and personal life experience, he offers compassionate, grounded counseling services in Calabasas, CA that support individuals and families in navigating life’s challenges, strengthening relationships, and developing healthier emotional patterns.

This is a perfect little book for motivation. It's simply laid out and laden with fantastic quotes making it great to just pick and read for a few minutes here and there or just breeze through the whole thing from time to time to keep up your motivation to take your project from beginning to end! Highly recommended.
